Mirror of Night
"The Only Certainty Is Death."
Reflecting at the mirror gives Zagreus the ability to spend Darkness gathered from Tartarus and beyond to improve his own abilities. However, many of the abilities are locked at first, each requiring a varying number of Skeleton Keys to unlock. After several escape attempts, the ability to refund spent Darkness for use on other abilities is unlocked.

Totals[edit | edit source]
It takes a total of 102 Skeleton Keys to unlock all upgrades on the Mirror.
To unlock all non-Boon, non-Fated Authority upgrades requires 2250 Darkness; including the Boon upgrades takes this total to 7250 Darkness. Including Fated Authority, the current total required to max out the Mirror is 172,250 Darkness.
Fated Authority[edit | edit source]
Room rewards belong in different item pools, which is indicated by the colour of the wreath decoration on the room preview: gold for a temporary resource, or blue for a permanent resource. Fated Authority can only alter a reward to another reward in the same pool, so you cannot alter, say, a Skeleton Key into a Pom of Power. Some rooms, such as bosses and friendly NPCs are unalterable.
The encounter itself is not altered, so you cannot use Fated Authority to change a miniboss room with a skull marker into a regular room.
