Skull-Crushers are the heads of Cyclopes'. They will launch into the air and attempt to crush the skull of their enemies.

Combat

A shadow will appear where they will fall. The AOE is deceptively large so two dashes are recommended for those looking to ensure safety.

Skull-Crushers almost never attack without first being baited out, if you simply keep moving they can sometimes be convinced never to land. This is useful for dealing with other onscreen enemies, but can make killing them deceptively difficult. Without armor they appear to be able to be stunlocked to an extent on the ground, even though they don't have an animation indicating that this is so.

A singular armored Skull-Crusher (previously an endlessly respawning non-armored Skull-Crusher) accompanies the Megagorgon as the Asphodel mini-boss. In that encounter, the Skull-Crusher provides the damage while the Megagorgon does its best to keep you petrified.

Codex entry

Codex
'...In the great and ancient war that raged between the Titans and Olympians, the brutish Cyclopes stood with the former side, and dearly paid for it. Their kind has all but disappeared from earth, though remnants still remain beneath it.'

Trivia

  • Skull-Crusher was introduced in the Chaos Update, and is one of three head enemies introduced in this update, the others being the Gorgon and Megagorgon.
